Abstract: Purpose: The aim of this study is to determine the home safety status and associated risks of individuals with neurological disorders. Material and Methods: Eighty-three individuals with neurological disorders living in Denizli constitute the sample group of the study. The Home Safety Checklist was employed in order to evaluate the home safety status of the participants. Results: While 93% of the participants (n=77) were considered to be living in ‘dangerous’ homes, 7% (n=6) had ‘good’ homes according to the Home Safety Checklist scores. In this study’s sample, no participant was considered to be living in a ‘perfect’ home. Conclusion: The results are indicative of the fact that the home safety scores of participants with neurological disorders are very low. In light of this, the environment and living area of the affected individuals should be adapted according to their limitations in such a way so as to enable them to live a barrier-free and easier life.
