dc.description.abstract | One of the most basic functions of children's literature is to provide children with reading love and habits. The most important task in fulfilling this function of children's literature falls on the shoulders of the teachers. At this point it is necessary to first determine the extent to which the pre-service Turkish teachers have mastered the books for children by starting from their own experiences before starting their profession. The objective of this study is to determine which children's books the 3rd grade pre-service Turkish Language teachers who have taken the course of Children's Literature in the Department of Turkish Language Teaching have read and who encouraged them to read those books during their education life. Pre-services teachers were asked to write ten of the works written for the children that they have read until that day. As a result of the analysis of the data obtained from the questionnaire which 452 pre-service teachers participated, there are 551 books on the list of Children's Books which are created from the books that the preservice teachers have read. The most read books among the given ones are Şeker Portakalı in the first place, Küçük Prens in the second place and Kaşağı in the third place. It was determined that most of the pre-service teachers read the children's book during their university years and at least during the high school period. However, they stated that they mostly read children's books with their teachers' recommendations and the least they have read through the Internet | en_US |
