Ögrencilern, yüksekögretim kurumlarında görev yapmakta olan öğretim elemanlarının iletişim biçimlerine ilişkin algı ve beklentileri (Pamukkale Üniversitesi örneği)

Abstract

Bu arastırmanın amacı, yüksek ögretim kurumlarında ögrenim görmekte olan ögrencilerin, ögretim elemanlarının iletisim davranıslarına iliskin algılarını ve beklentilerini belirlemektir. Arastırmanın örneklemini 2004?2005 Ögretim yılında Pamukkale Üniversitesi'ne baglı fakültelerde egitim alan 420 ögrenci olusturmaktadır. Arastırmada veri toplama aracı olarak arastırmacı tarafından hazırlanan 42 soruluk ?Ögretim Elemanlarının letisim Davranıslarını Ölçme? envanteri kullanılmıstır. Verilerin analizinde ?betimsel istatistik teknikleri?nin yanı sıra, ?t-testi?, ?Tek Yönlü Varyans Analizi? ve ?Tukey testi? kullanılmıstır. Yapılan istatistiksel çözümlemelerde anlamlılık düzeyi 0.05 olarak kabul edilmistir. Analiz sonuçlarında elde edilen bulgular asagıdaki gibidir; 1. Ögrencilerin, ögretim elemanlarının iletisim biçimlerine iliskin algıları degerlendirildiginde, en yüksek aritmetik ortalama puanına sözsüz iletisimin, en düsük aritmetik ortalama puanına dinleme davranısının sahip oldugu sonucuna ulasılmıstır. Ögrencilerin, ögretim elemanlarının iletisim biçimlerine iliskin beklentileri degerlendirildiginde, en yüksek aritmetik ortalama puanına dinleme davranısının, en düsük aritmetik ortalama puanına sözsüz iletisimin sahip oldugu sonucuna ulasılmıstır. 2. Yüksekögretim kurumunda ögrenim görmekte olan ögrencilerin, ögretim elemanlarının iletisim biçimlerine iliskin algılarında, onların cinsiyet, bölüm, egitim alınan bölümden memnun olup olmama degiskenlerine göre anlamlı fark bulunurken, sınıf degiskenine göre anlamlı bir fark yoktur. 3. Yüksekögretim kurumunda ögrenim görmekte olan ögrencilerin, ögretim elemanlarının iletisim biçimlerine iliskin beklentilerinde, onların cinsiyet, sınıf, bölüm degiskenlerine göre anlamlı fark bulunurken, egitim alınan bölümden memnun olup olmama degiskenine göre anlamlı bir fark yoktur. 4. Ögrencilerin, ögretim elemanlarının iletisim biçimlerine iliskin algı ve beklentileri arasında anlamlı bir fark vardır (p=.000).

The purpose of this study was to determine the students? perceptions and expectations towards communication skills and behaviors of academic staff working for Pamukkale University. The research sample was composed of 420 students attending different faculties of Pamukkale University during 2004 ? 2005 academic year. The data collected has been analized by SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences). The significance level was considered as 0.05. After analyzing the data collected, the following findings have been reached; 1. By evaluating the perceptions of the students towards the types of communication of the lecturers in the university, it was reached that nonverbal communication had the highest arithmetic mean point and listening behaviour had the lowest arithmetic mean point. By evaluating the expectations of the students towards the types of communication of the lecturers in the university, it was reached that listening behaviour had the highest arithmetic mean point and nonverbal communication had the lowest arithmetic mean point. 2. There is a significant difference between the perceptions of the university students towards the types of communication of the lecturers in the university according to the students? gender, department, studying department pleasure or not variables. But there is no any significant difference according to class variable. 3. There is a significant difference between the expectations of the university students towards the types of communication of the lecturers in the university according to the students? gender, class, department variables. But there is no any significant difference according to studying department pleasure or not variable. 4. There is a significant difference between the perceptions and expectations of the students towards the types of communication of the lecturers in the university (p=.000).
