Beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmenliği bölümü öğrencilerinin etik değerlere sahip olma düzeylerinin incelenmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye’nin farklı coğrafi bölgelerindeki üniversitelerde okuyan beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmenliği bölümü öğrencilerinin cinsiyetlerine ve okudukları üniversitelerin bulundukları coğrafi bölgelere göre değerlere sahip olma düzeylerinin incelenmesidir. Bu amaçla Dilmaç, Arıcak ve Cesur tarafından geliştirilen dokuz alt boyuttan oluşan 39 maddelik Değerler Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Ölçeğin alt boyutları “toplumsal değerler”, “kariyer değerleri”, “entellektüel değerler”, “maneviyat”, “materyalistik değerler”, “insan onuru”, “romantik değerler”, “özgürlük” ve “fütüvvet”tir. Ölçek, 2017-2018 Eğitim-Öğretim Yılı’nda Türkiye’nin farklı coğrafi bölgelerindeki üniversitelerde okuyan beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmenliği bölümü öğrencilerine uygulanmıştır. Araştırmaya 175’i (% 33,8) kadın ve 343’ü (% 66,2) erkek olmak üzere toplam 518 gönüllü öğrenci katılmıştır. Araştırmaya katılan beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmenliği öğrencilerinin etik değerlere sahip olma düzeyleri ortalamalarına bakıldığında en az romantik ve materyalistik değerler en fazla ise sırasıyla insan onuru, özgürlük, toplumsal değerler, entelektüel değerler, fütüvvet, kariyer değerleri ve maneviyat ön plana çıkmıştır. Kadın ve erkek beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmenliği öğrencilerinin etik değerlere sahip olma düzeyleri karşılaştırıldığında toplumsal değerler, kariyer değerleri, entelektüel değerler, maneviyat ve özgürlük alt boyutları sıra ortalamalarında kadın öğrenciler lehine anlamlı farklılıklar görülmüştür. Kadın beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmenliği bölümü öğrencilerinin erkek öğrencilere göre söz konusu değerlere daha fazla önem verdikleri görülmüştür. Farklı coğrafi bölgelerdeki üniversitelerde öğrenim gören beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmenliği öğrencilerinin toplam etik değerler sıra ortalamalarında farklılık görülmemesine rağmen toplumsal değerler, kariyer değerleri, maneviyat, insan onuru ve fütüvvet alt boyutları sıra ortalamaları puanlarında istatistiki olarak anlamlı farklılıklar bulunmuştur. Bu farklılıkların genelde Doğu Anadolu ve Karadeniz bölgelerinde bulunan üniversitelerden kaynaklandığı belirlenmiştir. Doğu-Batı ve Kuzey-Güney olarak bahsedebileceğimiz farklı coğrafi konumlarda yer alan insanlar bulundukları sosyal çevre, toplumdaki değer öncelikleri, ekonomik fırsatlar, özgürlükçü bir yaşam tarzı düşüncelerde, duygularda ve değerlerde farklılıklara ya da benzerliklere neden olabilmektedir. Son olarak, elde edilen bulgular tartışılmış, uygulamaya ve gelecek araştırmalara yönelik önerilere yer verilmiştir.

The purpose of this study is to examine the level of values of undergraduate students in the departments of physical education and sport according to gender and universities’ different geographical regions of Turkey. For this purpose, a 39 - item “Value Scale” consisting of nine subscales of Dilmaç, Arıcak and Cesur was used. The subscales are "social values", "career values", "intellectual values", "spirituality", "materialistic values", "human honor", "romantic values", "freedom" and "Futuwwa (Generosity and Courage)". This scale was administrated to students studying in the department of physical education and sport at universities in different geographic religions of Turkey in the 20172018 academic year. In this research a total of 518 voluntary undergraduate students [175 (% 33,8) women and 343 (% 66,2) men] participated. When we look at the average level of having the human values of physical education and sports teacher students participating in the research, “human dignity”, “freedom”, “social values”, “intellectual values”, “generosity”, “career values” and “inwardness” came to the forefront subsequently. On the other hand, “romantic” and “materialistic” values were the lowest. Comparing the levels of female and male physical education and sport teachers with their human values, there were significant differences in favor of female students in the mean of “social values”, “career values”, “intellectual values”, “inwardness”, and “freedom” subscales. It can be said that the students of the female physical education and sport teaching students give more importance to the values mentioned than the male students. Despite the fact that there was no significant difference in the total of the humanitarian values of the physical education and sports teacher students in different geographical region universities, there were statistically significant differences in the mean rank scores of “social, career”, “inwardness”, “human dignity”, and “generosity” values subscales. It has been determined that these differences are mainly caused by the universities of the Eastern Anatolia and Black Sea regions. Social environment, value priorities in society, economic opportunities, libertarian lifestyle thoughts of people can cause differences or similarities in emotions and values in the different geographical locations that can be talked about as East-West and North-South. Finally, the findings were discussed and recommendations for implementation and future research were included.
