This study was conducted with the aim of assessing the views of visual art educators towards digital painting activities. The participants of the study were nine visual art educators in Bartin. This study is designed as a case study holding a qualitative research approach, and the data is collected via semi-structured interviews, which was later processed through content analysis. The results of the study indicated that the visual arts educators do not have enough knowledge about digital painting activities, hence their distance to such activities. In other words, visual arts educators working with traditional methods are unfriendly towards the idea of transferring their works onto digital media environment, and when they have the chance to use digital methods, they give them a try or use them as an assistance for designing their traditional works. It was also found out that the visual art educators are hesitant about the artistic aspect of the digital paintings, and they agree on the fact that digital paintings are not "the one and only", which negatively affects their artistic value. On the other hand, the results show that visual art educators agree on the view that digital painting will become widespread and will be performed with different techniques by wider masses.en_US
