The Chedoke Mc-Master Attitudes Toward Children with Handicaps anketinin geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışması

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı The Chedoke Mc-Master Attitudes Toward Children with Handicaps Anketinin geçerlik ve güvenirlik değerlendirmesini yaparak Türkçeye kazandırmaktı. Denizli ilindeki ortaokullar evren kabul edilerek, çalışma için her iki ölçekteki ortalama soru sayısı olan 36 dikkate alınarak, Denizli İl Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü’ne bağlı ilk ve ortaöğretim statüsündeki okullarda küme örneklem yoluyla seçilen 11-15 yaş aralığında ki 1305 öğrenci üzerinde uygulama yapıldı. Geçerlik için yapı geçerliği, güvenirlik için ise paralel formlar yöntemi, madde toplam analizi, test tekrar test ve iç tutarlılık değerlerine bakıldı. Bu çalışmadan elde edilen verilerin sonunda, CATCH anketinin Türkçe uyarlamasının(T-CATCH) 11-14 yaş grubunun engellilere yönelik tutum ve davranışları değerlendirmede kullanılabilecek geçerli ve güvenilir bir anket olduğu bulundu. Test-tekrar test sonuçları analizinde pozitif yönde anlamlı ilişki bulundu (r: 0,840, p<0.05). Özürlülere Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği ile CATCH anketi paralel formlar yöntemine göre incelendiğinde aralarında pozitif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki vardı (r: 0,408, p<0,05). 1305 çocuk üzerinde yapılan T-CATCH anketi uygulaması verilerine göre 11-14 yaş grubu çocukların engellilere yönelik tutum ve davranışları olumlu bulundu (p<0.05). Kızların, engelli arkadaşı olanların, son 1 hafta içinde engelli arkadaşı ile konuşanların ve kamu okullarına giden çocukların tutumları daha olumlu (p<0.05); ailesinde engelli birey olanların tutumu sınırda(p<0.05) ve yaş alma ve engelli arkadaşı ile aynı okula gitme arasında ve tutum arasında ise anlamlı bir fark bulunmadı (p>0.05). Engellilere yönelik tutum ve davranışların olumlu yönde değişiklik göstermesinin, erken yaşlardan itibaren başlayacak, ilk ve orta öğretim düzeyinde verilecek eğitimlerle, engelli akranla kurulacak ilişkinin kolaylaştırılmasıyla ve bu yöndeki projelerin toplum temelli eğitimlerle desteklenmesiyle artacağı kanısındayız.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Chedoke Mc- Master Attitudes Toward Children with Handicaps Scale. Secondary schools in Denizli province were accepted and the study was carried out on 1305 students between 11-15 years of age selected in the primary and secondary schools in Denizli. For validity, construct validity, reliability for parallel forms method, item total analysis, test retest and internal consistency values were examined. At the end of the data obtained from this study, it was found that the Turkish version of the CATCH scale (T-CATCH) was a valid and reliable scale that could be used to evaluate the attitudes and behaviors of the 11-14 age group. There was a positive correlation between test-retest results (r: 0.840, p <0.05). When the CATCH scale and Attıtudes Towards Persons wıth Dısabılıtıes inventory was examined according to the parallel forms method, there was a significant positive correlation between them (r: 0,408, p <0,05). According to the data of the T-CATCH scale conducted on 1305 children, the attitudes and behaviors of 11-14 age group children towards disability were found to be positive (p <0.05). The attitudes of girls, disabled friends, disabled friends and public children in the last week were more favorable (p <0.05); There was no significant difference between the attitude of those with disabilities in the family (p <0.05) and between the age group of the disabled and their friends with the same school (p> 0.05). We believe that the positive change in attitudes and behaviors towards disabled people will start from the early ages, through the trainings to be given at the primary and secondary education level, by facilitating the relationship with the disabled peer and by supporting the projects in this direction with community based education.
