Abstract: The purpose of this study is to overview studies on relationship between the parental self-efficacy levels (especially mothers' self-efficacy) and development of their young children. For this purpose, a narrative literature review was carried out. Based on the review of the literature, it is observed that there are relationships between the parental self-efficacy and children's cognitive, social and language development. Moreover, parental self-efficacy level is affected by some variables such as socio-economical condition, social supports, being a single mother and mother's age. Also, studies pointed out that there is a relationship between self-efficacy levels of mothers and child's problem behaviors, maternal depression and stress.
