Çizgisel analiz yoluyla peyzaj tasarımı: Stratonikeia (Eskihisar) arkeolojik sit alanı örneği

Abstract

The subject of this research is the archaeological site of Stratonikeia (Eskihisar) located within the boundaries of Yatağan District of Muğla Province, which has a rich infrastructure in the context of its natural and cultural heritage with its multilayered structure, including the Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Principalities, Ottoman and Turkish Republican periods. The city of Stratonikeia was registered as the first Degree Archeological Site with the decision of Real Estate Antiquities and Monuments Supreme Council (GEEAYK) with the law no. A-973 numbered on 10.02.1978, and it was included in UNESCO's Temporary List of World Heritage Sites in 2015. The aim of the study is to express the future use alternatives of the original urban pattern formed by the natural and cultural landscape values of the archaeological site of Stratonikeia (Eskihisar), by graphical techniques in the context of conservation-use balance. It is expected that this research will contribute to the urban and landscape design-implementation studies in the context of revealing the unity of past and present of historic fabric shaped by change-transformation in the historical continuity and presenting design alternatives for future analysis.
