What qualities a contemporary music teacher should bear

Abstract

Amazing developments in science and technology have given rise to many changes in education as well as in other areas. With respect to these changes, there has occurred necessity to search for alternative movements in the variables of education such as student, teacher, educational programs. For instance, teacher centered education has been replaced by learner centered education. The questions 'What kind of education is needed?' and 'What are the necessary qualities of a contemporary teacher?' are nowadays more commonly asked in the field of education. These questions originate from the significance of the fact that new generations must be well raised. Within this perspective, this study aims to focus in general on the profession of music education and specifically on what a music teacher should be like and what qualities they should bear.
