Abstract: The purpose of this study was to invastigate high school student's problem solving approaches and their demographic characteristics on peer pressure . The participants of this study were 368 randomly selected high school students who were attending three different prgrams. Data were collected by using the Peer Pressure Scale (Kiran, 2003), the Problem Solving Inventory (Heppner ye Petersen, 1982) and a form for determining demographic characteristics of the participants. Data were analyzed by employing stepwise regression and ANOVA. The results of the study showed that peer pressure was predicted by the gender, mother' level of education, the use of hasty and personal control problem solving approaches, and, type of school attended. Results have been discussed in relation to peer pressure litetature.
