Title: Do Teachers Behave Ethically? Investigation of Teachers' Perceptions about their Colleagues

Abstract: Professional ethical behaviors of the teacher are important for thedevelopment of the student in every aspect who are taking role modelof their teachers. Within the scope of the research, it was aimed todevelop a valid and reliable scale. The sample of the study consists of394 secondary school teachers working in Denizli province Turkey. Inaddition, data were collected from 276 secondary school teachers forthe confirmatory factor analysis. Data were analyzed by using principalcomponents analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and other reliabilityevidences. Descriptive statistics, independent samples t-test and oneway ANOVA analysis were used to determine the differences betweentheir perceptions. According to the results of the study, the valid andreliable scale with a one-dimensional structure was developed. Whenteachers' perceptions are examined, the majority of them think thattheir colleagues behave ethically inside and outside the school. It wasalso determined that these perceptions differ according to gender andseniority.
