Türk romanında hatırlama ve unutma mekânı olarak kahvehaneler, meyhaneler, barlar ve kafeler (1950-2000)

Abstract

Modernitenin, 20. yüzyıl ile birlikte mekâna dair inşa ettiği algı, onu geometrik bir düzlemden çıkararak, sosyolojik, bellek sahibi ve yaşayan bir konuma çevirir. Varlık olarak inşa edilen bu sistem, aynı zamanda bir hatırlama ve unutma sürecini de beraberinde taşır. Bir bellek, bir kimlik, bir tarih, bir eşik ve psikoloji kaynağı olarak mekânlar, toplumsal kimlikler, siyasi erk ve sosyoloji ile yakın temastadır. İnsanlık, uygarlaşma adımlarını mekân üzerinden yansıttığı gibi büyük toplumsal değişimlerin, kolektivitenin de kaynağında mekân vardır. Mekân ile birey veya toplum arasındaki hatırlama ve unutma yolları ise duygusal kimi göstergelerle olur. Bir görüntü, aşinalık veren bir kişi, duyulan ses, alınan koku gibi sinestetik unsurlar kadar, kişinin mekân içerisinde yaşadıklarından kalan duygular ve alana dair hisler de bellek ile mekân arasındaki ilişkiyi koordine eden unsurlardır. Kurgusal bir eser olan roman, mekân ve hafızayı kendi bünyesinde buluştururken, çeşitli okumalara da imkân sağlayacak bir perspektif derinliğine sahip olur. Romandaki mekânlarda insanların ne hatırladıkları, hangi mevzuyu konuştukları, neleri unuttukları meselesi de bir yandan belleğe ilişkin fakat diğer yandan da edebiyat tarihini de oluşturan sosyal şartlardan bağımsız değildir. Çalışmanın başlığı ve içeriği doğrultusunda kültürün yaşadığı ve tüm ideolojilerin görünürlük alanı olması bakımından eğlence mekânları üzerinde durularak bu mekânlardaki hatırlama unsurunun mevzuları tartışılmıştır. Çalışmanın bütününde bellek ve mekânın ilişkisi eğlence mekânları başlığı üzerinden sınırlandırılarak kahvehane, meyhane, bar ve kafe üzerinden ele alınmıştır. Giriş bölümünde bellek ve mekânla ilgili kuramsal bir çerçeve oluşturularak mekânda belleğin nasıl canlandığı veya mekânın bir bellek unsuruna nasıl dönüştüğü, felsefî ve sosyolojik argümanlarla açıklanmaya çalışıldı. Tezin birinci bölümü, tarihsel bir göstergeyi, modernizm ve mekân hafızasını içerir. Türk edebiyatında mekân üzerinden hafıza oluşturmanın yani modernizmin etkilerini en iyi takip edebileceğimiz 1950 sonrası Türk romanı ekseninde oluşturuldu. Çalışmanın birinci ve ikinci bölümünün oluşturulması sürecinde 1950-2000 yılları boyunca çıkmış tüm romanlar ve buna ek olarak 1880-1950 yılları arasında basılmış olan romanlar okunmuş, mekân ve hafıza üzerinden değerlendirilmiştir.

The perception of space, which was established by modernity with the 20th century, removes it fr and living position. This system, which was built as an entity, also carries with it a process of remembering and forgetting. Spaces are in close contact with social identities, political power and sociology as a memory, an identity, a history, a threshold and a source of psychology. As humanity reflects the steps of civilization through space, there is also space at the source of great social changes and collectivity. The ways of remembering and forgetting between the place and the individual or society are based on some emotional indicators. The emotions left by a person’s experiences in the space and the feelings about the space are the elements coordinating the relationship between memory and space as well as the synesthetic elements such as an image, a familiar person, the sound heard, the smell taken. The novel, which is a fictional work, brings together space and memory in it, and has a depth of perspective that will allow for various readings. The issue of what people remember, talk about, and forget in the places in the novel is not independent of the social conditions forming the history of literature on the one hand. The subjects of the remembering element in these places are discussed by emphasizing the entertainment venues in terms of where the culture lives and all ideologies are visible, in line with the title and contents of the present study. In the entire study, the relationship between memory and space was limited to the title of entertainment venues and discussed over coffee houses, taverns, bars and cafes. A theoretical framework about memory and space was created in the introduction, and it was tried to explain how memory is revived in space or how space is transformed into a memory element with philosophical and sociological arguments. The first part of the thesis included a historical sign, modernism and spatial memory and was created on the axis of the post-1950 Turkish novel, where the effects of creating a memory through space in Turkish literature, in other words,modernism, can be followed best. In the process of creating the first and second parts of the study, all the novels that were published between 1950 and 2000, and also, the novels that were published between 1880 and 1950 were read and evaluated through space and memory.
