Sosyal bilgiler öğretmenliği öğrencilerinin coğrafya dersine yönelik tutumlarının değerlendirilmesi: Pamukkale Üniversitesi örneği

Abstract

Öğrenci başarısı, öğretmenin özelliklerine, kullanılan yöntem-teknikler ile araç- gereçlere, öğrenme ortamlarına ve öğrencinin özelliklerine göre farklılık gösterebilmektedir. Ancak bu öğrenme farklılığının olduğunu söyleyebilmek için öncelikle öğrencinin o derse karşı tutumunun belirlenmesi gerekir. Öğrencinin geliştirdiği olumlu ya da olumsuz tutum biz eğitimcilere sorunun kaynağını tespit etmede ve çözüm geliştirmede yol gösterici olur. Bu da eğitimde kalitenin arttırılmasına katkı sağlar. Bu çalışma, Pamukkale Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretmenliği 1-2-3 ve 4. Sınıf öğrencilerinin coğrafya derslerine yönelik tutumlarını belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Rastlantısal örnekleme (random) yöntemiyle belirlenen 250 öğretmen adayına 31 maddeden oluşan likert tipi coğrafya tutum ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Ölçekte Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretmenliği öğrencilerinin coğrafya derslerine karşı tutumlarında “cinsiyet ve sınıf düzeyi” ne göre bir farklılık olup olmadığı ölçülmüştür. Anket sonuçları SPSS 21.0 programında değerlendirilmiş olup örneklem grubu hakkında bilgi edinmeye yönelik olarak tanımlayıcı istatistiklerden frekans dağılımları, ortalama ve standart sapma, çapraz tablo, bağımsız örneklem t-testi ve tek yönlü varyans analizinden yararlanılmıştır. Değerlendirme sonuçları, ilgili bölümlerde tablo ve grafiklerle açıklanmıştır. Çalışma, Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretmenliği öğrencilerinin coğrafya derslerine karşı tutumlarını etkileyen etmenlerin belirlenmesine yönelik sonraki araştırmamızın gerekliliğini ortaya koyması bakımından önemlidir.

Student achievement may vary according to teacher characteristics, teaching method-techniques, tools, learning environments and students’ characteristics. However, in order to be able to say that the diversity of this learning, the students position against that course must be determined at first. That positive or negative attitudes have developed by students will provide guidance to educators to identify the source of the problem and develop solutions. This also contributes to improving the quality of education. This study is intended to determine the attitudes of the Social Sciences Teaching Students - in 1-2-3 and 4th graders who studying in Pamukkale University, Faculty of education- towards geography lessons. The type of survey is the 5 point Likert geography attitude scale that consist of 31 questions was applied to the 250 candidate teachers who were determined by using random process. In this study were measured the attitutes differences to the geography lessons of Social Sciences Teaching Studens according to the “gender and class level”. The results were analyzed by using SPSS 21.0 program with some demographic analzyes like independent t test. For the validity and reliability of the research was used Cronbach’s alpha test. The findings converted into tables according to the above mentioned criteria and have been interpreted the corresponding sections. The study is important to demonstrates the necessity of our further research related to determine the factors which affect their attitutes to the geography lessons of Social Sciences Teaching Students.
