Abstract: This paper evaluates the performance of the wireless power transfer (WPT) compensation topologies for the implantable active medical devices (AIMDs). In the design of compensation topologies, high efficiency power transfer and size are important criteria for implantable WPT system especially for AIMDs. Therefore, this work evaluates the common compensation topologies in terms of high efficiency. In order to test the performance of compensation topologies, field-electric common simulation models are used. Finally, efficiency performance of different topologies arc compared and discussed.
