Abstract: The most urgent health problem is infectious diseases in developing countries but it is clear that genetic approach will be useful in solving some frequently encountered health problems. Emphasizing the importance of screening and counselling services which are integrated into Basic Health Services including all health care providers plays an important role in protecting against genetic diseases.
