Abstract: Engineering design is the process of transforming new ideas into products or services from an interdisciplinary perspective. In this study, skills related to this process were studied. The aim of the study is to develop a valid and reliable scale to determine pre -service teachers' self -efficacy perceptions towards engineering design skills (PEDSS). Firstly, a qualitative study was conducted with students selected through purposive sampling. After the item generation and expert opinion stages, a pre-test study was conducted and then additions, deletions and edits were made to the items. Finally, the validity and reliability study of the scale form was conducted. In the study, 276 pre -service teachers were included in the first group in which exploratory factor analysis (EFA) was performed and 211 pre -service teachers were included in the second group in which confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was performed. As a result of the study, it was determined that the scale consisting of 35 items and 5 factors was valid and reliable. It is thought that the study will contribute to the literature in the context of investigating pre -service teachers' self -efficacy perceptions towards engineering design skills and eliminating the complex and ambiguous conceptual structure of engineering design skills.
