Metin madenciliği ile karşılaştırmalı bir inceleme: “Le petit prince” çevirileri

Abstract

Bu çalış manın amacı, bir metin madenciliği inceleme aracı olan KH Coder ın, eşdeğerlik ” ve matriks normlar ” ışığında yapılan karşılaştırma lı çeviri çalışmalarındaki kullanılabilirliğini ve yeterliliğini test etmektir Metin madenciliği, doğal dil m etni ni veri kaynağı olarak kabul ede n ve metin üzerinden yapısallaştırılmış veri elde etmeyi amaçlayan bir yöntemdir. KH Coder, metin madenciliğinin yanı sıra hesaplamalı dilbilim ve nicel içerik analizi çalışmalarında kullanı labilen, v erilerini doğrudan işle yip analiz edebil en bir yazılımdır. Gideon Toury nin öne sürdüğü çeviri normlarından matriks normlar ise k aynak metnin biçimsel değerlerinin erek metinde nasıl yer alacağına ve ne kadar değiştirileceğine yön ver en, metindeki her türlü yer değiştirme, ekleme ve çıkarma gibi biçimsel değişikleri kapsa yan normlardır. Diğer yandan eşdeğerlik ” iki farklı kavramla belirlenebi lmektedir: yeterlilik ” ve kabul edilebilirlik ””. Çeviri kaynak dizgeye yakın olması durumunda yeterli çeviri, erek dizgeye yakın olması durumunda kabul edilebilir çeviri olarak kabul edilir. Bu ç alışmada inceleme nesneleri olarak Antoine de Saint Exupéry in Le Petit Prince ” adlı eseri ile İngilizce The Little Prince Japonca 星の王子さま " (Hoshi no Ōjisama) ve Rusça Маленький принц ” Malen kij Princ) çevirileri ele alınmıştır. İlk olarak i nceleme nesneleri Excel dosyası forma tında düzenlenmiş, ardından K H Coder a tanıtıl mış ve analiz bulguları çıkarılmıştır İncelemenin ilk kısmında bulgular yorumlanmı ş, ikinci kısmında ise elde edi len bulgular kuramsa l bağlamda karşılaştırılmıştır Çalışmanın sonunda KH Coder ın matriks normlar ve eşdeğerlik bağlamında yapılan karşılaştırm alı çeviri çalışmalarında kullanılabilir ve yeterli olduğu gözlemlenmiş tir.

The aim of this study is to test the usability and adequacy of KH Coder, a text mining analysis tool, in translation comparison studies in the light of "equivalence" and "matri cial norms". Text mining is a method that accepts natural language text as a data source and aims to obtain structured data through text. KH Coder is a software that can be used in text mining as well as computational linguistics and quantitative content analysis studies and can directly process and analyse data. "Matr icial norms", one of the translation norms suggested by Gideon Toury, are no rms that guide how the formal values of the source text will be included in the target text and how much they will be changed and cover formal changes such as all kinds of substitutions, additions and deletions in the text. On the other hand, "equivalenc e" can be determined by two different concepts: "adequacy" and "acceptability". The translation is considered an adequate ” translation if it is close to the source system, and an acceptable ” translation if it is close to the target system. In th is study, Antoine de Saint Exupéry's work "Le Petit Prince" and its translations of "The Little Prince" in English, " 星の王子さま " (Hoshi no Ōjisama) in Japanese and "Маленький принц" Malen kij Princ) in Russian were considered as the objects of study. Firstly, t he objects of analysis were organised in Excel file format, then they were introduced to KH Coder and the findings of the analysis were extracted. In the first part of the analysis, the findings were interpreted, and in the second part, the findings were c ompared in theoretical context. At the end of the study, it was observed that KH Coder was usable and sufficient in translation comparison studies carried out in the context of matri cial norms and equivalence.
