Abstract: In the teaching/learning process in education, assessment is as critical as teaching because it creates positive or negative washback. Learners focus on and try to improve themselves based on what they have been asked in the examinations. Thus, teachers need to be knowledgeable on assessment literacy and the procedures to prepare tests depending on the levels of their pupils when they begin their jobs. In this chapter, we investigated the reflections of student teachers in ELT in a Turkish context based on the online Assessment and Evaluation in ELT course. Our findings revealed that student teachers preferred face-to-face education because of some challenges they encountered, although they stated some positive opinions about online education. Hence, we analyzed the course evaluation by the student teachers and discussed both the advantages and disadvantages of online education in terms of their feedback on the procedures of the online course. © 2024 by Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
