Sınıf öğretmenlerinin öğretim becerilerini geliştirmeye yönelik bir uygulama : ders imecesi

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı; geleneksel mesleki gelişim etkinliklerden farklı bir uygulama olan ders imecesi modeli ile sınıf öğretmenlerinin öğretim becerilerini geliştirebilmektir. Çalışma nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden olan tarama deseni ve nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden biri olan eylem araştırmasını içeren karma bir araştırmadır. Araştırmanın nicel verileri İzmir ili Bornova ilçesinde görev yapan sınıf öğretmenlerinden elde edilmiştir. Nitel araştırma aşamasının pilot uygulaması İzmir ili Bornova ilçesinde bulunan bir devlet okulunun sınıf öğretmenleri ile asıl uygulama özel bir okulun 3. Sınıf öğretmenleri ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada öğretim becerileri ölçeği, yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu, öğretmen gözlem formu, araştırmacı günlüğü, öğretmenlerin yansıtıcı raporu, toplantı kayıtları ve görüşme formu veri toplama araçları olarak kullanılmıştır. Araştırmaya katılan sınıf öğretmeninin öğretim becerileri yönelimleri % 85,75 düzeyinde yüksek çıkmıştır. Öğretmenlerin öğretim becerileri ile çeşitli değişkenler arasındaki ilişkinin tespit edilmeye çalışıldığı çalışmada hiçbir bağımsız değişken ile anlamlı farklılık bulunmamıştır. Katılımcı öğretmenlerle yapılan görüşmeler ve ders gözlemleri sonucunda öğretmenlerin, öğretim becerileri yönelimlerinin iyi olduğu fakat bu becerileri sınıflarında uygulayamadıkları görülmüştür. Ders imecesi ile öğrenme ortamının eğlenceli hale geldiği, öğretmenlerin mesleki ve sosyal iletişimlerinin arttığı, kendi değerlendirmelerini yaptığı, fikir alış verişinde bulunarak yaratıcı yanlarının ortaya çıktığı, derslerin farklı öğretim yöntemleri ile daha verimli hale geldiği ve öğretmenlerin mesleki gelişimlerine katkıda bulunduğu görülmüştür.

The purpose of this research to improve the teaching skills of classroom teachers with the lesson study model which is a different application than traditional professional development activities. In this research, a mixed method research design was used by combining survey as a quantitative research method and action research as a qualitative research method. Quantitative data of the research were obtained from the classroom teachers who served in Bornova district of Izmir Province. The pilot application of qualitative research phase was conducted with the classroom teachers of a public school located in Bornova district of Izmir and the real study was carried out with the 3rd grade teachers of a private school. In the study, the scale of teaching skills, semi-structured interview form, teacher observation form, researcher diary, reflective report of teachers, meeting records and interview form were used as data collection tools. The teaching skills of the class teacher who participated in the research were high at 85.75 %. There was no significant difference between the teaching skills of teachers and various variables. As a result of interviews and lecture observations with teachers who participated in the study, teachers have been found to be good at teaching skills, but they cannot perform these skills in their classrooms. After the implementation of the lesson study, it was seen that the learning environment has become fun, teachers' professional and social communication has increased, teachers have done their own assessments, shared their opinions and enhanced their creativity, and the lessons have become more productive with the different teaching methods and have contributed to the professional development of teachers.
