Abstract: The purpose of this study is to adapt the Metacognitive Reading Strategies Questionnaire (Taraban, Kerr and Rynearson, 2004) to Turkish and to make its reliability and validity analysis. 786 university students attending Pamukkale University during 2007-2008 academic year participated in the study. After the language validity, the exploratory factor analysis showed that the instrument fit the original form. Internal consistency coefficients of the instrument were .81 for total, .78 for analytic strategies dimension and .82 for pragmatic strategies dimension. According to the findings, the instrument can be accepted as reliable and valid.
