Sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin sosyal bilgiler dersi zümre toplantılarına ilişkin görüşleri

Abstract

Eğitim sisteminde plan ve programın yapılması başarıyı etkileyen önemli bir unsurdur. Plansız ve programsız öğretimin amacına ulaşması söz konusu değildir. Öğretmenlerin ders planı yapması, derse hazırlıklı girmesi, işlenen dersin verimliliğini artırdığı bilinmektedir. Aynı şekilde okul, ilçe ve il içerisinde belirli dönemlerde aynı derse giren öğretmenlerin bir araya gelerek zümre toplantılarını yapmaları, bu toplantılarda belirli kararlar alıp uygulamaları veya uygulayamamaları da eğitimöğretimin verimlilik düzeyi açısından önemlidir. Zümre toplantılarında, akademik başarı, disiplin meseleleri, sosyal etkinlikler (gezi, gözlem, ziyaret) gibi konular konuşulmaktadır. Öğrencilerde özellikle akademik açıdan verimliliği artıracak tedbirler, çalışmalar, öneriler zümre toplantılarının ana konusunu oluşturduğu görülmektedir. Gerçekten zümre toplantılarının verimli olup olmadığı konusunda ise değişik görüşler vardır. Bu araştırmanın amacı özellikle Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmenlerinin Sosyal Bilgiler zümre toplantılarına ilişkin görüşlerini ortaya çıkarmaya yöneliktir. Araştırmada betimsel ve vardamsal istatistik kullanılmıştır. Bu araştırmanın çalışma grubu, 2015-2016 eğitim öğretim yılında İzmir ilindeki iki merkez ilçede ve iki de merkeze dışındaki ilçelerde bulunan ortaokullarda görev yapan Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmenleri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini ise, dört ilçedeki ortaokullarda görev yapan yıl olarak farklı mesleki deneyimlere sahip olan sosyal bilgiler öğretmenleri arasından, eleman örnekleme yönteminden, oranlı eleman örnekleme ile random olarak seçilmiş yüz kişilik katılımcı Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmen grubu oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada tarama yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Öğretmenlere yapılan anket sonucunda elde edilen veriler SPSS 23 programında analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma verileri normal dağılım gösterdiğinden parametrik testlerden t testi kullanılmıştır. Çoklu değişkenleri karşılaştırılmasında ise ANOVA kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda, Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmenlerinin zümre toplantılarının verimsiz olduğu yönünde beyanda bulunmuşlardır.

Planning and programming are significant elements affecting the achievements in the system of education. It is out of the question to reach the targets wihout plan and program. It is known that the teachers’ planning and being prepared for the lesson increase the efficiency of it. Accordingly, the common branch teachers’ meetings in particular times in schools, districts and provinces, their taking decisions and whether implementing them or not are also vital in the efficiency of teaching. In branch meetings, topics like academic achievements, disciplinary issues and social activities ( tours, observations, visitations) are discussed. It is observed that the main topics in branch meetings include precautions, studies and suggestions particularly for academic achievements. And there are different views on whether branch meetings are really beneficial or not. The purpose of this study is to reveal the Social Studies teachers’ views regarding the Social Studies branch meetings. The descriptive and inferential statistics are utilized in the study. Social Studies teachers in Secondary schools, two of which are serving in central district and the other two in out-of-centre district, in Izmır in 2015-2016 academic year comprise the study group of the research. And, one hundred participatory Social Studies teachers who are chosen randomly by rational sampling from cluster sampling methods among the ones who have different professional experiences in terms of years and are serving in the four different districts comprise the sample of the study. Relational screening method is applied in the study. The data obtained from the questionnaire that is applied to teachers has been analyzed in SPSS 23 program. As the research data has demonstrated a normal distribution, the t test from the parametric tests has been used. As a result of the research, the branch meetings were stated to be inefficient by the Social Studies teachers.
