Sosyal bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının çevre sorunlarına ilişkin duyarlılıklarının incelenmesi

Abstract

Sosyal Bilgiler öğretim programının içeriğine bakıldığında, birçok bilim dalının bütünleştirilmiş hali karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Esasında vatandaşlık eğitimi, tarih ve coğrafya öğretimi olduğu ifade edilse bile Sosyal Bilgiler bunların dışında daha fazla bilim ile bütünleşiktir. Bu dersi veren veya verecek olan öğretmen veya öğretmen adaylarının da kendilerini bu doğrultuda hazırlamaları, yetiştirmeleri ve geliştirmeleri gerekir. Sosyal Bilgiler öğreticisi, öncelikle çevresini çok iyi gözlemleyen birisi olmalıdır. Yaşadığı çevrede olup bitenleri en iyi şekilde okuyup, yorumlayıp ifade etmeyi bilmelidir. Bu açıdan değerlendirildiğinde bugün bakıldığında yaşanılan çevrede en büyük problemlerden birinin de çevre sorunları olduğu gözlemlenmektedir. Bir Sosyal Bilgiler öğreticisi, çevre ile ilgili öğrencileri en iyi şekilde bilinçlendirmekle sorumludur. Bu bağlamda araştırmanın amacı özellikle Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının, çevre sorunlarına ilişkin duyarlılıklarını çeşitli değişkenler açısından değerlendirmektir. Çalışmada betimsel ve vardamsal istatistik kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu olarak Pamukkale Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi Sosyal Bilgiler Eğitimi Bilim Dalında öğrenim gören öğretmen adayları seçilmiştir. Öğretmen adaylarına uygulanan ‘Çevre Sorunlarına Karşı Duyarlılık Ölçeği’ nin sonuçlarına göre elde edile veriler SPSS 23 programında analiz edilmiştir. Elde edilen verileri normal dağılım gösterdiğinden parametrik testlerden t testi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın sonucunda, Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının büyük çoğunluğunun çevre sorunlarına karşı duyarlı oldukları ve bunun öğretmen adaylarının cinsiyetlerine göre farklılık göstermediği ortaya çıkmıştır.

Revising the context of the Social Studies curriculum, one confronts with the integrated form of many disciplines. Though it is stated to be the education of citizenship, history and geography, Social Studies is integrated with more disciplines other than those. For this very reason, the teachers or the preservice teachers of this subject needs to be prepared and improve themselves accordingly. A teacher of Social Studies must begin with observing his environment mindfully. He must read and know and have the skill to interpret what is going on in his environment. Considering the present day from this point of view, we come to a conclusion that the environmental issues are one of the most important troubles we are facing. A Social Studies teacher is responsible for educating his students ideally about their environment. In this context, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the preservice teachers’ awareness regarding their environment from the point of multiple variables. Descriptive statistics and Inferential statistics has been utilized in the study. The preservice teachers from Pamukkale University, the Faculty of Education, the Department of Social Studies have been chosen as the study group of this study. The data obtained from the results of ‘The Awareness Scale Relating to Environmental Issues’ have been analyzed in SPSS 23 program. Because the data have shown a normal distribution, t- test has been chosen to be used from the parametric test as a result of the study, it has been found that the most of the Social Studies preservice teachers have the awareness regarding the environmental issues and that the sexual differences have no role in determining it.
