Abstract

Dünya nüfusunun yaklaşık olarak %10’unu [600 milyon insanı] meydana getiren engelliler, özellikle eğitim, istihdam, kamu hizmetleri, ulaşım, iletişim, eğlenme, dinlenme olanakları, örgütlenme ve sağlık hizmetleri gibi alanlarda bir takım ayrımcı/dışlayıcı tutum ve davranışlara maruz kalan bir önemli bir ‘sosyal kategori’ olarak nitelendirilmektedir. (Özgökçeler vd, 2010). Bu nedenle engellilerin istihdamı genelde kuruluşların destek hizmetlerinde pasif işlerde gerçekleştirilmektedir. Engelliler yaşamda dezavantajlı doğarlar. Bu dezavantaj onlara sağlanacak olanakların yetersizliği ile daha da güçleşir. Özellikle Zihinsel engelliler için hem bireyi kendisi hem de ailesi bakımından daha da güçtür. Zihinsel engelliler, eğitim çağından çıktıktan sonra, herhangi bir yerde istihdam edilmesi güç olmaktadır. Bu bireylerin kendi psikolojik ve sosyal yaşamı oldukça sıkıntılıdır. Bu aileye de yansır. Bu nedenle zihinsel engellilerin yapabilecekleri işlerde istihdam edilmesi önem taşımaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı zihinsel engelli bireylere istihdam yaratılmasını sağlamaktır. Bu çalışmada zihinsel engelli bireylere istihdam yaratıcı olanakları gözden geçirilmesi üzerinde durulacaktır. Bu projede, zihinsel engelli bireylerin sosyal ortama katılması, ruhsal olarak kendilerini iyi hissetmesi, maddi kazanç oluşturulması ve ailenin çocuklarına sağlanan bu olanaklardan dolayı daha mutlu olması hedeflenmiştir. Yukarıda sözü edilen yararların sağlanmasında ve zihinsel engellilerin yapabilecekleri bağlamında düşünüldüğünde, en uygun istihdam alanının kafe işletmeciliği olacağı düşünülmüştür. Bu çerçevede, bir zihinsel engellilerin çalıştığı bir kafe projesi geliştirilmiştir. Denizli Belediyesi ve Pamukkale Üniversitesi tarafından koordine edilen Down Sendromlu bireylerin çalışma hayatına kazandırılması amacı ile “Gülen Yüzler” isimli bir “Down Kafe” formatında proje tasarlanmıştır. Bu proje kapsamında, IQ seviyesi 60-80 arasında olan 14 adet down sendromlu yaşı 18’den büyük olan down sendromlu kişiler seçilmiştir. 7 adet üniversite öğrencisi seçilerek, gerekli eğitimleri verilmiş ve 1 öğrenci 2 engellinin servis, kişisel problem, motivasyon ve iletişim problemlerinden sorumlu olacak şekilde eğitimleri verilmiştir. Ayrıca engelli ailesi de projeye dâhil edilerek, haftada 1 gün en iyi yaptıkları pasta-börek-kek konularının birinde ürün yapmaları istenecek ve projede aktif olarak katılmaları sağlanacaktır. Down sendromlu bireylerin el hareket yetenekleri sınırlı olduğu için, servis için özel aparatlar yaptırılacaktır. Bu proje ile uygun sistem kurulduğu takdirde, engelli bireylerin piyasa şartlarında rekabet edebilir işlerde çalışabilecekleri ispatlanacaktır. Bu projenin yer seçiminde, üniversite ve lise çevresinin yoğun olmasına özen gösterilecektir. Aynı zamanda, yapılacak pazarlama ve tanıtım çalışması ile, sürekli bir müşteri kitlesinin oluşturulması sağlanacaktır. Böylece zihinsel engelli bireylerin sürekli bir işte çalışarak, çalışıp para kazanmanın ve yaşadığı evde tüketen değil, eve katkıda bulunan birey olma özgüvenini sağlayacak bir sistem kurulacaktır.

The aim of this study is to create employment for individuals with intellectual disabilities. In this study, individuals with intellectual disabilities review will focus on the creative possibilities of employment. In this project, the social environment of individuals with intellectual disabilities to participate spiritually, to feel good about themselves, their children and their families are provided the opportunities for the creation of financial gain is intended to be more than happy. The above mentioned benefits and mental disabilities can make in the context of ensuring the proper operation of cafe area was thought to be employed. In this context, the project is developed in a cafe working with mental disabilities. This project is coordinated by the Pamukkale University and a partner Denizli Municipality. The working life of individuals with Down syndrome in order to gain the "Smiling Faces" is a "Down Kafe" format, designed the project.
